6 houses gutted
ITANAGAR, Sept 12: Atleast six houses were reportedly burnt down to ashes after fire broke out around 12 noon today at Pessing village, seven kilometer off Aalo in West Siang district. This was informed by state Bharatiya Janata Party vice president Tayek Goi in a release. It said that fire broke out when villagers were busy in the paddy field. All properties worth lakh of rupees were reportedly reduced to ashes. The state BJP appealed to the government to provide immediate relief to the fire victims.
Meanwhile, public leader Tayu Jerang condemned the Aalo fire brigade for not reaching the spot with sufficient water in the tanker. He urged the concerned authority to direct the fire brigade to keep their equipment always ready.
He also appealed to the government to immediately provide relief materials to Pesing village fire victims.

In a release, informing of the ban, GPM Chairperson of Lichi Sher Panchayat Lishi Unia warned that if anybody is found violating the order will be penalized with a sum of Rs 20,000 and will be handed over to the concerned authority for necessary action.

AALO Sept 12: The West Deputy Commissioner MK Sahoo inspected the store rooms of Govt. Hr. Sec. School Aalo and Govt. Middle School where books and uniforms are stocked for distribution to 18, 640 students under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) in 12 Educational Blocks of the district today.
The DDSE Aalo Tomi Doke and 12 Block Education Officers of various parts of the district were present on the occasion to sort out and collect their respective quotas of uniforms for distribution in different school of the district to students from class I to VIII.

ITANAGAR, Sept 12: The Capital Police today appealed the general public of Capital Complex not to disclose any information regarding Bank Accounts, Debit/Credit Cards, and ATM PIN numbers etc. to anyone who are seeking such information over phone. Itanagar Police are on its toes to reveal the identity of such internet hackers and to apprehend them at the earliest, the police said.
The police came to know that an unknown caller from mobile no. 9262753136, 9547075664 and 9431919035 who have been calling innocent public by introducing himself as an ATM verification officer of SBI or other nationalized banks is an internet hacker and cheater. On receiving all such information from the public they use to withdraw money from there Bank Account. While adopting the same tricks they use to dupe several innocent persons of Capital Complex, the police said.

Union Tribal Affairs Minister assures CM on nomenclature issue
NEW DELHI, Sept 12: Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, V Kishore Chandra Deo today assured Chief Minister Nabam Tuki that the Ministry is ready to favourably consider the demand of the State Government for change in nomenclature of few tribes of the state.
Deo informed Tuki, when the latter called on his offices here at Shastri Bhavan, that recommendations for change in nomenclature of scheduled tribes in the state have to come through proper channel as per norms to enable the Ministry to work on it. He requested the State Government to immediately send official recommendations for the same through the State Secretariat, which he said is the normal procedure. He assured that the recommendations would be positively considered by the Union Ministry.
Tuki accompanied by Tourism and RWD Minister Pema Khandu explained Deo of the demands of some tribes of the state for change in nomenclature including the need to change ‘Any Naga Tribe’ to the original nomenclatures of individual tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. To the request of the Chief Minister for grant of scholarship to students of the State studying in various universities, colleges, schools as well as those undergoing courses in various skill development trades, the Union Minister informed that there is already a system in place for grant of scholarships to tribal students. He requested the concerned officials and individual students to go through the grants available with the Ministry and apply through proper channels.
Pema Khandu, who belongs to the Buddhist community of the state, also requested scholarship to students from the state undergoing religious studies in universities run by Buddhist institutions. Deo informed that provision for scholarships is available with the Ministry and can be availed by the students, which the Ministry would be happy to provide.
To another request of the Chief Minister, the Union Minister assured that the Ministry will finance in skill development training for unemployed youths of the state through various schemes available including through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes implemented by various PSUs. He sought a detailed data bank of skill trades specific to youths of Arunachal Pradesh from the concerned state government department.
Acknowledging the fact that Arunachal Pradesh is a cent percent tribal state, the Union Minister assured that one Joint Secretary of the Ministry will exclusively deal with issues pertaining to tribal affairs of the state.
As requested earlier by the state government for inclusion of an Arunachalee as a Member in the National Commission of Scheduled Tribes, the Union Minister informed that the process has been already initiated as per the recommendation made by the State Government.
Thanking the Union Minister profusely for his generosity towards the state, Tuki invited him to visit Arunachal Pradesh at his convenience. Deo responded by saying that it has been his long cherished dream to travel to Arunachal Pradesh and the time has come now. He assured Tuki that he will visit the state either in the second half of October or first half of November this year.
Alleged conspirator of journalist shooting case surrenders
ITANAGAR, Sept 12: The Tongam Rina shooting case alleged conspirator Yumlam Achung surrendered before the District and Session Judge, West Session Division, Yupia today.
Achung, who was wanted in connection with Itanagar Police Station case No. 154/2012 U/S 120B/307/34 IPC, was absconding for some months to avoid police arrest, Superintendent of Police (Capital) Nabam Gungte informed in a release.
The Court has remanded the accused to judicial custody for seven days and he has been lodged in the district Jail, Jully, Itanagar. The Court has further directed that accused be produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Itanagar on expiry of remand.
The State Government had announced Rs.10 lakh as cash reward to any person giving clue / information leading to the arrest of the accused.

BRO personnel hit by boulder, dies
WAKRO, Sept 12: A BRO personnel lost his life in Lohit district when he was on his
duty to restore the Brahmakund-
According to sources, incessant rains during first week of September triggered landslide causing major damages to Brahmakund –Tohangam road. During the 24x7 relentless efforts by the BRO personnel of 48TF to restore the cutoff road sector earliest, C/Mech M K Sharma, present on site was hit by a shooting stone resulting in his falling into a more than 80 mtr deep gorge.
In no time, Col P K Tripathi, Commander, 48 Border Roads Task Force sent a clear message to all ranks of the 48 Task Force to launch all out mission to search body of Sharma. Responding to the call by the Commander, 48 BRTF personnel with the help of local civil administration, police, villagers and NGOs, swung into action. Finally after almost five days of the accident, the search party located and extricated the body of M K Sharma, which got carried away almost 2 kms downstream. Methelesh and Manish, two sons of the deceased who came from their home town on hearing the tragic news of their father were deeply touched by the commitment of the Commander, Col Prashant Tripathi and the 48 BRTF in locating and recovering the mortal remains of the deceased.
After all the police and medical formalities and documentation the last rites of the deceased was carried out as per the wish and to the satisfaction of his two sons on 9th September evening at the holy pilgrimage site of Parshuram Kund.
Members of the public who were witness to the humane face of the 48TF of the BRO lauded the unit conveying that the BRO unit in Dimwe is led well and that such inspiring leadership will keep the morale of the personnel engaged in such remote and challenging mountainous locations high.
Cyclist reaches Arunachal with a message to stop violence against women
ITANAGAR, Sept 12: Sougaijam Bidyalakshmi, who is currently on a bicycle tour of North East to spread the message about stopping violence against women, reached Nirjuli.
The young activist interacted with the students of NERIST and expressed concern over rising incidents of crime against women and children.
“If I am able to talk to 100 persons, I assume that 100 crimes will be reduced,” said Bidyalakshmi.
Speaking in a function organized by the students of NERIST to receive the Bidyalakshmi, BC Sharma said Man and woman are the two feet of a society.
A society can progress when both are equally treated and it is everybody’s responsibility to fight crime against women and children, said Aheibam Dinamani Singh, Asst. Prof., NERIST.
There is a need to change the mind set of women to fight back, he added.

CHANGLANG Sept 12 : The ‘SARVA SHIKSHA ABHIYAN’ (SSA) is an initiative to universalize quality elementary education, it is a significant attempt to bridge social and gender gaps with vision to impart quality education in a plan way, suited to the need on the basis of local environment. It is a comprehensive and integrated flagship programme of the Government of India to attain Universal Elementary Education with community participation at village level.
Keeping in view to the present educational scenario and to ensure quality education, good attendance and to impose discipline among students and teachers, the Deputy Commissioner Changlang, Chanchal Yadav, took a bold steps by terminating two SSA teachers from their contractual job for their irregularities and involvement in undesirable activities, on the part of a teacher which is a criminal offence. Show cause notice was also served to many irregular and defaulters SSA teachers, at the same time advisory notice too served for smooth running of schools. The action taken is an exemplary for those erring teachers and to bring them in right track.

AALO, Sept 12: A Sensitization and Awareness Camp for implementation for protection of women under Domestic Violence Act was organized at Aalo by ICDS Aalo on recently.

Capital road need honest attention
Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily I want to ask few questions to department of PWD and Government of AP. Are they really concern about the citizen of the State in particular people living here in capital town? Are they really taking any kind of measures to fix the poor condition of the capital road? Do they really feel the bumpy ride of the capital road? May be not, because they travel in SUVs. No one can feel it like we common people do every time we travel by a Tempo or Tracker? Have their eyes gone blind, can’t they see the potholes of capital road?
What are they doing with the central fund, aren’t they going to use it on developmental activities of the state and in particular beautification of the capital town? These ministers of our state really like to visit the developed states as well as countries with the public money. I wonder what they learn from those places. Rather than enjoyment only they should learn a bit from there and implement it to beautify our state by maintaining hygiene and sanitation also. By maintaining the natural beauty and enhancing it with bit more idea, our state can draw the attention of many tourists. But the government is failing to do so. How long we have to live in this unhealthy and poor condition? Even we cannot take stroll in the road because of its foul smell spreading everywhere and it will cause health hazardous in the near future. My earnest requests to the people of the state in particular the citizen of the capital complex, let’s wake up from the deep slumber.
Let’s transform ourselves to live a better tomorrow.

Deafening silence by student organizations
Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily we on behalf of all rejected candidates of APPSCE'13 would like to share our opinion of ongoing situation.
These days newspaper is flooded with activities of student organization— AAPSU, ANSU, SUMA— on issues relating to public welfare. We acknowledge and appreciate their work for our state’s welfare. But, should not they give priority to student's grievances? Here more than 2000 genuine and qualified students are being deprived from taking preliminary exam of state's top most civil service exam.
We utterly fail to understand the logic behind the deafening silence by student organizations. These student organizations are quite vocal when it comes to raise voice against the demolition of big structures which is mostly of private interests but on the other hand when their own family member (students) are in deep trouble they look other way. Who is stopping to fight for the cause of your own family?
Structures can be rebuilt but career once spoilt is lost forever. Many of the candidates would be appearing for the last time. Despite being fully aware of our grievance, it is really sad that not even a single student organization have raised our matter before the Commission, State Govt or in any known platform for that matter.
APPSC is an autonomous and constitutional body. Commission can take its decisions independently so what is stopping them to review their decision? In recent past, the Commission has amended its decision for the greater interest of the candidates, why not in our genuine case? Why didn't the Commission come up with wider publication of its rules and regulations to the student community? Moreover, the Commission took more about year time to bring out the selection/rejection list. Till then, candidates (including the 2000 rejected) were deeply engrossed in studies exhausting their time, hard work and money—who is going to compensate this loss?
We are not here to blame the Commission alone; we fully acknowledge our unintentional mistakes and we apologize for it. We are even ready to undergo any sort of penalty as deemed fit by the Commission provided we are given a chance to appear in the preliminary exam.
Lastly, we fervently appeal the Commission to extend some mercy on our genuine plea or the very motto of the Commission’s—TALENT SEARCH— would go null and void. Commission can save the career of so many talents who are pinning their last hope on the favourable decision by the Commission.

Issuing allotment is the best solution
Dear Editor,
The recent show cause notice served to the residents of government colonies for having constructed structures within the premises of their quarter is nothing but another tactics to suppress and harass the poor common and not so important people. Unless it is on the Row, temple, dam, common play ground, how can the government impose a huge 4 meter norm to the residents of type l, ll and type lll dwellers? Just because the high ranking officers are allotted big quarters with big lawns and backyards, they shouldn’t be the only to erect skyscrapers and nothing to worry about the 4 meter norm. The residents of smaller quarters have the every right to build or construct whatever space is available to their backyards. How can a person build a house in 5 meter square space after leaving 4 meter distance from any side? The best solution for the government would be to issue allotment to all the already erected structures without batting an eyelid and earn some revenue rather than giving the poor people sleepless night of all their savings and hard earned money turning into dust.

The genuine unemployed youth of Upper Subansiri district has not been selected in
PMEGP beneficiary for 2013-
The section of officers and public leaders are suffocating citizen with the corrupt practices.
Because of high corruption poor and needy unemployed youth of district are worse affected as they struggle for livelihood.
Therefore, it is serious cause of concern to all of us as most of the officers and publics leaders are under influence of corrupt politician. I sincerely appeal to the Deputy Commissioner of the district to judiciously exercise most valuable right to root out the social problems of district. If such corruption is not stopped immediately, we the bonafide citizen of the district will be compelled to make agitation against the vested interest officers and the leaders of the district.
The faith of the common people from their district officers and public leaders is evaporating day by day. The need of constitutional remedies and proper channelization by applying intellectual sense to provide legal justices to the political subjugated officers and leaders is need of the hour. The slight error in our judgment may have a retrogressive impression on our mature district.
Therefore I strongly condemned those officers and leaders working round the clock
with vested interest and mischief maker. Interference from any quarter must be stopped
in any interview process. As a lovers of peace and tranquility in the district I

Fifty of the 500 largest listed companies in the world are responsible for nearly three quarters of the group’s 3.6 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, so finds the CDP Global 500 Climate Change Report 2013. The carbon emitted by these 50 highest emitting companies, which primarily operate in the energy, materials and utilities sectors, has risen by 1.65% to 2.54 billion metric tons over the past four years. This increase is equivalent to adding more than 8.5 million pickup trucks to the streets, or the supply of electricity to 6 million homes for a year.
